Record of ships arriving at New York, 1812-1815.

Journal, May 4, 1812 - July 11, 1815, kept at the Tontine Coffee-House, listing the arrival of ships at New York, including the vessel's name, master, port of departure, number of days out, and destination when not New York. Sometimes the cargo and consignee are given. The journal also includes notes on the weather and the time of high water, as well as other relevant information, such as intelligence of sighting, captures, and losses of ships, and general news related to the progress of the war and the blockade of New York. There is a printed summons laid in, dated April 11, 1879, naming Frederic de Peyster and William T. Horn as plaintiffs, relating to their claim to the Tontine Coffee-House as sole survivors of the tontine.
